Signs of the time, time of the signs.

A series of 10 works on paper, depicting current events, and especially current thoughts about contemporary culture. Ideas, images, and text, are hurriedly and randomly pulled from the air and slapped down together onto the paper. The themes of each work are developed on the page, nothing has been really prescribed to any degree - unlike other works of mine.

The development of the work, does not necessarily try to fit in with the title - actually the title, and there sometimes is more than one title, just sort of happens. I suppose the real theme of the works, besides the overarching series title 'Signs', is the complexity of the world at any one time and the proliferation of stuff, ideas and human behavior.

'Signs' - signs of the time - my response and reaction played out on the paper on a weekly basis. Very little is pre-planned in these works, and so completion time of the series is unknown. Putting down random stuff and trying new things, while maintaining some sort of artistic and technical quality is the challenge, while always trying to fathom the depths of thought.
